No, I have learned from experience that my service is only suitable for friendly, family pets. I am happy to accommodate puppies as long as they are house trained and or cage trained. I am also happy to accept most breeds as long as they are obedient, non-destructive, non-aggressive and have a calm and gentle nature.
Yes. In fact, I recommend it. I will always invite you to my home to ensure that all parties (you, your pet/s and myself) are fully informed and happy. I want you to go away relaxed and confident , knowing your pet will be happy in my care.
Yes. For first time guests, I will encourage you to book a day care/overnight session before your holiday to help your pet/s get used to me and build a bond so that they feel confident and settled when staying here.
Generally, I only look after two family’s dog’s at any one time. However, during peak periods I may look after up to a maximum of three dogs at the same time. All dogs must be sociable and get on with other dogs. If you would prefer for your dog to be the only one who is looked after during their holiday, please let me know in writing at the time of making your booking and I can advise on availability/ if there is a premium stay charge due to the absence of other bookings.
Depending on my availability, I do not have restrictions on the duration of your pet's stay.
If your pet becomes ill whilst you are away, I will get in touch to discuss its condition. If we both think it is necessary, I will take your pet to your local vet. The cost of treatment will be reclaimed on your return. Any costs I incur will need to be reimbursed. I will contact your emergency number at the first opportunity to discuss what has happened and according to your instructions we will keep you updated of your pet’s progress.
Cancellation within 2 months of the booking date – 15% of the overall fee is payable
Cancellation within 1 month of the booking date – 40% of the overall fee is payable
Cancellation within 1 week of the booking date – 60% of the overall fee is payable
Cancellation within 24 hours – 100% of the overall fee is payable.
Cancellation fees are to reflect the work already undertaken to arrange your booking and potential loss of earnings.
No. Veterinary insurance is completely your decision. However, I do have Public Liability pet care insurance.
Yes, although I will need to charge fuel if it is more than 5 miles away.
I am generally happy for your pet to sleep in the bedroom but in their own basket or on the floor. However, I am happy for some animals to sleep on my bed, especially the small breeds.
